Pricing at a Glance

Listeners

$0.00139 per port-hour — roughly $1 per month each.

Charged per hour the Listener exists, regardless of traffic. Hourly charges are not pro-rated.

Packets

First 1 million packets per month are free, then tiered pricing based on volume.

Packets >1KB count as multiples. Both inbound deliveries and outbound responses are counted.

Packet Pricing Tiers

Tier (Monthly Packets) Price per Million
0 – 1M Free
Next 99M (1M – 100M) $1.25
Next 900M (100M – 1B) $1.12
Next 9,000M (1B – 10B) $0.99
Next 90,000M (10B – 100B) $0.86
Next 900,000M (100B – 1T) $0.73
Above 1T $0.60

All pricing is in USD. Charges appear on your AWS bill as Proxylity UDP Gateway line items.

Bulk & Pre-Paid Options

Contracts for pre-paid packet credits are available through AWS Marketplace. Pre-purchasing credits gives you access to lower per-unit pricing tiers up front, which can provide significant savings for predictable, high-volume workloads.

For example, if your account handles a steady 100M packets per month, comparing monthly vs. annual pre-paid:

Payment Approach Cost for 12 Months
Monthly pay-as-you-go 12 × $123.75 = $1,485.00
Pre-paid annual (1,200M packets) 1M free + (99M × $1.25) + (900M × $1.12) + (200M × $0.99) = $1,329.75
Savings $155.25 (10.45%)

Check contract offers in AWS Marketplace or contact sales to discuss pre-paid options.

Example Scenarios

Syslog Aggregation

50 servers and network devices averaging 10 syslog messages per minute each, write-only (no responses):

Component Monthly Total
Inbound syslog messages (50 devices × 10/min × 60 × 24 × 30) 21.6M packets
Outbound responses (write-only protocol) 0 packets

Monthly cost: 1 Listener ($1) + 1M free + 20.6M × $1.25 = $26.75 (plus AWS destination service costs)

Remote Sensor Telemetry

1,000 IoT sensors each reporting 1 packet per minute, with acknowledgment responses:

Component Monthly Total
Inbound telemetry (1,000 × 1/min × 60 × 24 × 30) 43.2M packets
Outbound acknowledgments 43.2M packets
Total 86.4M packets

Monthly cost: 1 Listener ($1) + 1M free + 85.4M × $1.25 = $107.75 (plus AWS destination service costs)

Frequently Asked Questions

When you subscribe to Proxylity UDP Gateway via AWS Marketplace, all charges are consolidated onto your existing AWS bill. There is no separate Proxylity invoice or payment method to manage. Usage is metered in your AWS account and charges are reported to AWS at the end of each billing period.

Yes. The first 1 million packets per month are always free, regardless of your subscription tier. This includes both inbound packets delivered to destinations and outbound response packets. The free tier resets at the start of each calendar month and is sufficient for development, testing, and many low-volume production workloads.

A packet is any UDP datagram delivered to a Destination, or sent as a response back to a remote client. Packets up to 1KB count as one packet. Larger packets count as multiple packets based on their size in KB, rounded up — for example, a 1.5KB packet counts as 2, and a 3.2KB packet counts as 4.

You're charged for packets delivered to destinations (inbound) and for reply packets sent back to remote clients (outbound), because both represent real processing work: receiving, routing, invoking destinations, and transmitting responses. If your protocol is receive-only with no replies, you only pay for inbound packet processing.

If a Listener is configured with multiple destinations, each inbound packet is delivered to all configured destinations and you're charged once per destination. For example, with 3 destinations and 1 million inbound packets, you're charged for 3 million packet deliveries (plus any response packets).

Each Listener incurs a charge of $0.00139 per hour — roughly $1 per month. This rate is the same regardless of the Listener's configuration (number of destinations, allowed networks, etc.). Hourly charges are not pro-rated: if a Listener exists for any part of an hour, you're charged the full hour. Deleting a Listener stops new charges immediately (after the current hour).

You'll incur standard AWS charges for the destination services you use — Lambda invocations, SQS requests, Kinesis PUT records, S3 PUT operations, and so on. UDP Gateway invokes these services on your behalf using IAM roles you configure. Review the pricing pages for your specific destination services to understand total cost.

Pre-paid contracts let you purchase packet credits in advance at discounted rates. Credits are applied to your monthly packet usage automatically, and pre-purchasing typically unlocks lower effective per-unit pricing tiers. Pre-paid contracts are available as custom offers through AWS Marketplace — check the Marketplace listing or contact sales for details.

Estimate based on two components: (1) number of Listeners × ~$1/month each, and (2) total monthly packets (inbound deliveries + outbound responses) using the tiered table above. For example, 5 Listeners processing 10M packets per month would cost approximately $5 (listeners) + $11.25 (packets after free tier) = $16.25/month, plus AWS service costs for your destinations.

Each AWS account requires its own UDP Gateway subscription. Listeners and destinations are account-specific. If you need to deploy across multiple AWS accounts or require centralized billing, the Enterprise plan supports multi-account configurations — see the Enterprise page for details.

Yes. The Enterprise plan is designed for sustained, high-volume workloads and mission-critical applications. It includes no per-Listener charges, batch-based pricing optimized for high throughput, a 99.99% availability SLA, priority support, and multi-account support. Contact sales to learn more.
